ANIMATION.
Animation (2D) came to me naturally. Indeed, having studied film and drawn for as long as I can remember, these two ideas naturally came together. My first attempt was for my very first short film, where I wanted an animated ending. I really enjoy imagining characters, bringing them to life, creating their voices and building their worlds. What I like about animation is that there are no limits: the unimaginable becomes possible. I invite you to take a look at some of my animations on this page!
Christmas animation project for Skillosophia
I suppose you've guessed that this animation was made for the Christmas period! I created it for Skillosophia, a start-up dedicated to talent management. The brief was to make a humorous Christmas video with a link to the company. The first challenge was to come up with a funny script, because making people laugh isn't always easy. But I hope my cynical Santa brought a smile to your face.
This was my first full-length animation. In fact, I took charge of every aspect, from the script to the drawings, including the voice (which was difficult because it was in English and much deeper than my natural voice) and the sound design. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot in the process. I have to admit that I particularly enjoyed the sound design part, because I really felt that the animation was coming to life.
 Animation project for Skillosphia
This project was also produced for Skillosophia. The complexity lied in creating the character SOPHIA, their virtual ambassador. Before I could start animating this video, I had to create this character, which was destined to appear over the long term. The second difficulty was that Sophia was animated using Adobe Character Animator. At first glance, this programme seems amusing, as the character moves as we do and the lips come to life when we speak. However, in reality it is extremely difficult to use and gave me cold sweats! The hardest part was keeping Sophia's body in one piece (that's a bit of a strange sentence...). The head kept coming off the body and I couldn't figure out why. But with a lot of effort, I managed to tame the lion. I created most of the drawings in this animation and the 2D animations in this video, as well as the script and the German and French voice-overs.
Here are a few examples of my trials and tribulations with Character Animator...
 Animated short film WHITE RAVEN
This is the beginning of my first animated short film, which is not yet finished. It's a film about mental freedom. A young woman is stuck in her head (represented by the rocky outcrop) and watches the ravens fly back and forth, while she can't see anything else except her little piece of land. So she decides to practise flying.
Animated illustration
For some time now, I've been having fun animating some of my illustrations. Here's one I particularly like...
Animation for the short film UN PADRE
This is my very first animation, made for the end of my first short film. The idea was to imitate a child's style of drawing. The difficulty was that I didn't know any animation software, so it was actually more complicated to find the most suitable program than to make the animation itself. It's true that it's a bit imperfect but I like it all the same and this imperfection goes with the idea of the short film.
